The world's first fifty-two minute weekly television program devoted to fashion broadcast by the French channel Paris Première, Paris Modes was imagined, produced and presented by the famous journalist Marie-Christiane Marek between 1992 and 2011.
Parallel to the weekly news, Paris Modes was the first video news agency to also cover, from 2004 onwards, the main ready-to-wear and haute couture events, shows and collections in Paris, Milan, London or New York, marketed worldwide by AFP to major international media. In July 2011, Marie-Christiane Marek sold her company to Relaxnews, a French news agency specializing in leisure news, which became ETX Majelan.
Over the past two decades, under the leadership of the chief editor Sophie de Champsavin, it has become a leading source of video content, capturing the essence of haute couture and prêt-à-porter through live coverage of fashion shows, backstage interviews, and in-depth trend analyses.
Present and involved since the creation of the Paris Modes show in 1992 alongside Marie Christiane Marek as Editor-in-Chief, Sophie de Champsavin has exhaustive knowledge of all the archives and the history of fashion. She regularly acts as a fashion expert for France Télévisions and always covers all fashion news for several media.
With an extensive archive that includes the early works of fashion icons like Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Jean Paul Gaultier, Paris Modes has not only chronicled the evolution of fashion but also shaped how audiences worldwide engage with luxury and style. True “trésor”, these archives are co-owned by Paris Modes and Marek Prod of Marie-Christiane Marek and Sophie de Champsavin.
Thanks to its DNA, the Paris Modes brand has been recognized for its expert commentary and high-quality productions, making it a trusted name in fashion media.
At a time when brands like Hermès and Givenchy are considering (re)making haute couture, Paris Modes' eye, heritage and know-how are unique.
